🚨 Do you need to learn how to set up a GL Audit Numbering Sequence in NetSuite 🚨
This tutorial will guide you through the steps to set up a GL (General Ledger) audit numbering sequence in NetSuite.
Step-by-Step Guide 📋
- Navigate to GL Audit Numbering 🔍
- From the Period Close Checklist, click on the GL Audit Numbering icon, or
- Go to Transactions > Management > GL Audit Numbering Sequences > New
- Enter Primary Information 📝
- Provide a name for your numbering sequence (e.g., “My Numbering Sequence”).
- Select the open period for the sequence.
- If you use NetSuite OneWorld, select the subsidiaries whose transactions you want to include (use Ctrl on Windows or Command on Mac to select multiple subsidiaries).
- Choose Numbering Type 🔢
- You have two options:
- Repeatable: Numbering can be rerun on GL impact transactions as often as needed.
- Permanent: Once a number is assigned, it cannot be changed. If GL impact locking is enabled, any changes to the transaction will create a copy and reverse the original transaction.
- You have two options:
- Configure Numbering Details ⚙️
- Set a prefix and/or suffix for the numbering sequence.
- Specify the minimum number of digits or the starting number for the sequence
- Choose whether to order transactions by date or entry date.
- Set Recurring Options 🔄
- For permanent sequences, choose a recurring unit type (e.g., hourly).
- Set the frequency (1-999), with best practice being 1 day or 24 hours.
- Set the first run and the next run details.
- Save and Validate 💾
- Once you’re happy with the configuration, click Save.
- Validate the numbering sequence to check if everything is set up correctly.
- If validation passes, click Run when you’re ready.
- Multi-Book Accounting 📚
